Snyder: Greene County Historical Society awarded state museum grant

HARRISBURG, March 4 – The Greene County Historical Society has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, state Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Greene/Fayette/Washington, announced today.

Snyder said these grants are used to provide general operating support to historical societies and state museums that are not receiving direct support by other state agency operating support programs.

“Preserving our history, including artifacts and stories of our past, is so important in educating our current and future generations,” Snyder said. “The Greene County Historical Society plays an integral part in keeping our communities connected through that shared history and making these type of investments ensures it can continue to educate and engage residents and visitors alike.”

The grants are awarded under the PHMC’s Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program. More information can be found at the following link: https://www.phmc.pa.gov/Preservation/Grants-Funding/Pages/Museum-Support.aspx
