Snyder to host inaugural Kids Fest event April 28
HARRISBURG, April 20 – In a revival of the popular Child Fest format that ended a few years ago, state Rep. Pam Snyder will host her inaugural Kids Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
“Everyone loved the community’s Child Fest, so we’re bringing it back as a fun Saturday afternoon with games, activities and plenty of information for parents and guardians – plus a free lunch for everyone who attends,” Snyder said. “We’ll also offer useful tips and instruction on child safety, for youngsters and adults, so there’s a serious element as well.”
For example, Snyder, D-Greene/Fayette/Washington, said the entire Greene County Human Services team will be on hand to provide information on all areas it covers, including counseling and food assistance.
Snyder and her staff also will be available to help with state government-related programs, services and problems. Snyder will personally host a 1 p.m. Reading Corner where each child gets a free book before they leave.
Blending their expertise with fun activities, Greene County Children and Youth Services will host a duck pond game, while the county’s Department of Recreation will provide costumed children’s characters.
Snyder said other offerings include:
Kittens and family-friendly dogs for adoption through the Greene County Humane Society.
IPads for STEM and OSMO demonstrations, provided by Flenniken Library.
Car seat safety demonstrations by Pathways of Southwestern PA.
Fire truck and fire simulator provided by Waynesburg Volunteer Fire Department (appearance emergency-dependent).
