Khan: Breakdown barriers to healthcare

PA state Rep. Tarik Khan, D-Phila, talks about his plan to remove barriers to health care for incarcerated Pennsylvanians at a state budget hearing in Harrisburg. Currently, people in PA prisons earn about 23 cents an hour. That makes the current $5 medical co-pay nearly a week’s wages. Khan has introduced legislation that would reduce the co-pay to $1, keeping accountability in place while removing a real barrier to care.
