Ullman announces school safety grant for Middle Bucks Institute of Technology
HARRISBURG, May 20 – State Rep. Wendy Ullman announced today that Middle Bucks Institute of Technology was awarded a $24,125 state grant for school safety equipment.
“I’m thrilled that Middle Bucks Institute of Technology has received this grant, which is an investment in keeping our students safe,” said Ullman, D-Bucks. “It’s critical that we make sure schools have the resources they need to create safe places where students and staff can focus on learning. I will continue to look for more opportunities to support our schools.”
The grant was among $919,000 in competitive Safe Schools Targeted grants awarded to 39 school districts for safety and security-related equipment. The grants can be used for items such as student, staff and visitor identification systems, metal detectors, protective lighting, surveillance equipment, special emergency communications equipment, training and more.
“The additional funding will help these schools create the safe and healthy learning environment that parents and their children deserve and further demonstrates the Wolf administration’s commitment to students and teachers across the commonwealth,” said Secretary of Education Pedro A. Rivera.
