Ullman kicks off Veterans Day weekend with FREE luncheon Friday, Nov. 8 in Doylestown

DOYLESTOWN, Oct. 28 – State Rep. Wendy Ullman will kick off Veterans Day weekend with a free luncheon for veterans living in the 143rd Legislative District on Friday, Nov. 8 in Doylestown. Ullman’s event will end in time for veterans to attend a free veterans benefits expo to be held Friday afternoon in Bensalem.

“I wanted to honor veterans for their years of service and sacrifice,” Ullman said. “It is an honor for me to host this event to show my gratitude to the men and women who have bravely and proudly served our country. We are hoping veterans will attend the luncheon and take advantage of the free veterans expo held later in the day in Bensalem.”

The day will begin with a flag ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Central Bucks Senior Activity Center, 700 N. Shady Retreat Road, Doylestown. Before lunch, a video will be shown detailing the Bucks County Tour of Honor Vietnam Veterans Trip from earlier this year. Lunch is scheduled to be served at 11:30 a.m.

Veterans are asked to RSVP for the luncheon by Nov. 1 by calling 267-768-3670, or by emailing repullman@pahouse.net. At the luncheon, veterans can meet Ullman’s staff and find information on state services benefitting veterans.

The veterans benefits expo will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Parx-East Racetrack Building, 3001 Street Road, Bensalem. The event will feature an opening ceremony at 1:45 p.m.

More than 50 exhibit tables will be featured at the veterans expo, including exhibits by the VA Medical Center, Vietnam Veterans of America, PA Career Link, Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Bucks County Tour of Honor and more. This event is open to all veterans, veterans’ spouses, veterans’ widows and veterans’ children living in the Delaware Valley. The expo will feature breakout conferences, which will include a VA town hall, women veterans conference and post-9/11 veterans conference.
