Yardley-Makefield Consolidated Emergency Unit adds ambulance

NEWTOWN, Sept. 9 – The Yardley-Makefield Consolidated Emergency Unit is outfitting a new 2019 Ford T-350 AEV Type ll Ambulance thanks to a low-interest loan recently awarded by the commonwealth.

The $59,075 vehicle was financed by the state Office of the Fire Commissioner following YMCEU’s successful application to the statewide program.

“This purchase keeps interest payments low, saves tax and circulates state investment in our region,” said Rep. Perry Warren, D-Bucks. “Congratulations to YMCEU for this acquisition. On behalf of the community, we thank them profusely for their dedication.”

Warren and state Sen. Steve Santarsiero, D-Bucks, advocated for the OFC financing, and purchasing the new ambulance was a solution sought by the first responders at YMCEU and the citizens it protects.

“When it comes to the organizations that keep our community safe, like the Yardley-Makefield Consolidated Emergency Unit, making sure they have the resources they need to do the work is vital,” Santarsiero said. “Utilizing state programs and funding opportunities is a great way to do that and I congratulate YMCEU for their success.”
