HARRISBURG, March 23 – State Sens. Steve Santarsiero and Frank Farry and state Reps. Perry Warren and Kristin Marcell today welcomed members of the Council Rock High School North Marching Band — along with Director of Bands Gregory R. Boccuti and the band’s dedicated staff — to the Pennsylvania State Capitol, where they were presented with a legislative citation recognizing their extraordinary 2025 season and championship achievements.
The Council Rock North Marching Band earned both the USBands Group IIA Pennsylvania State Championship and the USBands Group IIA National Championship, marking a historic accomplishment for the program. The band competed in seven competitions throughout the season, earning first place in six, including both championship titles.
The national championship victory took place on Nov. 9, at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, where the band earned a score of 93.700 and won Best Visual, achieving the highest score awarded to any A Class band at the national level across all group sizes. The competition featured 17 bands from six states, including several state champions.
One week earlier, the band captured the Pennsylvania State Championship at Downingtown High School with a score of 91.00, sweeping caption awards for Best Music, Best Visual, Best Percussion and Best Overall Effect.
The band’s 2025 production, Caged, explored themes of physical and emotional confinement and the journey toward freedom. The performance featured music by Peter Gabriel, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Ariana Grande, brought to life through a collaborative design effort by an accomplished creative team and student leadership.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the talent, discipline, and dedication of these student musicians and their instructors,” Warren said. “As the father of four Council Rock North graduates, and the son of two Council Rock graduates, I am incredibly proud to recognize the Council Rock North Marching Band for representing our community with such distinction on both the state and national stage.”
Santarsiero praised the band’s achievement and the pride it brings to Bucks County.
“The Council Rock North Marching Band’s extraordinary season is a testament to what can be achieved through talent, discipline and teamwork,” Santarsiero said. “Capturing both the Pennsylvania state and national championships is an incredible accomplishment that brings immense pride to our entire community. I want to congratulate Director Gregory Boccuti, the dedicated staff, and each and every student performer for their hard work and commitment to excellence. This is a historic achievement for Council Rock North, and our community celebrates this remarkable milestone alongside them.”
Farry highlighted the students’ commitment and teamwork throughout the season.

It was an honor to welcome them to the Capitol representing our community as we celebrated their success.”
