Contact me over recent boil water advisory

The Lower Makefield Board of Supervisors at its December 5, 2018 meeting passed a Resolution Resolving that the Township Will Work To Ensure High-Quality And Reliable Water Service in Lower Makefield Township. As set forth in the Resolution, our legislative staff and I will continue to work with Lower Makefield Township, Yardley Boro and the other public officials and entities to ensure high quality and reliable water service.

Throughout the five-day boil water advisory period, many customers of Pennsylvania American Water (PAWC) contacted my office with their questions, concerns and requests. Among other requests, I asked that PAWC provide attendants at the water tank stations and deliver water to the Pennsbury School District, both of which it did. I have also inquired about the breadth and effectiveness of the customer notification process.

In the near future, I plan to write to PAWC executives summarizing and asking them to address the concerns of our residents and its customers. If you have not done so already, please email me at so that I have a record of your inquiries and comments and I can provide them to PAWC.

Further, residents/customers may express their concerns directly to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). For questions or concerns regarding service, you may lodge an informal complaint with the PUC at Environmental concerns may be directed to DEP at Lower Makefield's resolution can be found at:

We will continue to work with local officials, PAWC, the PUC and the DEP to make sure that our drinking water is safe and reliable.
