Rep. Ben Waxman December 17, 2025
State Rep. Ben Waxman’s resolution to designate Nov. 16 as Philadelphia Orchestra Day in Pennsylvania has been adopted by the House with bipartisan support (201-2).
Waxman, D-Phila., invited the Philadelphia Orchestra string quartet to Harrisburg, where they performed in the House chamber for the first time since 1919.
“Today, we proudly recognize November 16th as Philadelphia Orchestra Day in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” said Waxman. “The Philadelphia Orchestra is not only a globally known organization for artistic excellence, but a vital part of our community here at home, inspiring generations through music and service. This designation honors its 125-year legacy and shows our commitment to the arts as a part of Pennsylvania’s identity.”
