Webster to hold community policy hearing on Revitalizing Main Street Wednesday in Eagleville
NORRISTOWN, July 19 – State Rep. Joe Webster, D-Montgomery, will host a community policy hearing on Revitalizing Main Street moderated by the House Democratic Policy Committee.
The hearing will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at the Lower Providence Township Building, 100 Parklane Drive, Eagleville. The media and public are invited to attend.
Webster requested the hearing to bring the community together to discuss prospective development on Ridge Pike, otherwise known as Main Street. He will be joined by Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, community leaders and experts in development.
Local officials from Collegeville, Lower Providence, Skippack, West Norriton, the Montgomery County Planning Commission and GVF will speak about what has already been accomplished on Main Street, what is needed to continue development, and present a vision for what can be accomplished going forward.
The hearing, focusing on community development and good jobs, is one in a series being held across the state on House Democrats’ Plan4PA. More information about the plan is available at www.plan4pa.com and hearing materials are at www.pahouse.com/policycommittee.
“The area of Main Street from Norristown to Pottstown is one of our community’s major roadways, which links together several parts of the 150th district,” Webster said. “Hardly a day goes by where I don’t drive on Main Street, and I am sure that it is the same for many in our community. The panel will be an opportunity for the community to engage with the different sectors involved in these efforts and to form the best plan for any upcoming projects regarding the revitalization of Main Street.”
