Webster’s town hall next week to focus on personal health during a pandemic
COLLEGEVILLE, Sept.14 – Personal health during a pandemic is the focus of Rep. Joe Webster’s virtual town hall slated for next Tuesday.
Webster, D-Montgomery, will host the event titled “Personal Health During a Pandemic” from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21. It will be streamed live on Webster’s home page, RepJoeWebster.com.
“The trauma and stress brought on by the pandemic has had, at times, devastating impacts to our physical and mental health. And while living in a pandemic is the new normal, we have to remember that these are extraordinary circumstances and as human beings, we are only capable of handling so much overwhelming news. I wanted to host this virtual town hall to provide the tools and resources available for individuals who are struggling to live healthily as we continue to fight this contagious and deadly disease,” Webster said.
Webster said the discussion will highlight initiatives aimed towards individuals taking a proactive role in their physical, mental and emotional health.
The event will feature panelists from a wide array of health fields, including Dr. Val Arkoosh, Montgomery County commissioner; Paul Stengle, ARC Alliance; Tracey Flynn, Montgomery County Office of Senior Services; Paul Toth, Eagleville Hospital; and a representative from the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. These panelists will join Webster for a discussion on the health issues impacting our community beyond the immediate effects of the pandemic. COVID-19 and the ensuing complications stemming from it have brought to light different issues facing our population at large.
"In an effort to better understand the needs of our constituents while we continue to confront the hyper-transmissible Delta variant, we’re looking to have a productive dialogue on the most pressing health concerns impacting our community today," he said.
RSVPs are requested, and comments and questions can be sent in ahead of time through the RSVP form: Virtual Town Hall on Personal Health & Wellness During a Pandemic (pahouse.com).
The virtual town hall also will be streamed live on Webster’s Facebook page, facebook.com/RepJoeWebster.
