Wheatley announces funding to combat, prevent homelessness in Allegheny County

PITTSBURGH, June 23 – Allegheny County has been awarded approximately $176,000 to help families affected by homelessness and to support affordable housing programs, state Rep. Jake Wheatley announced.

Wheatley, D-Allegheny, said the funding comes from the federal Emergency Solutions Grant program and is being distributed statewide through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

“Everyone deserves a safe place they can call home, and these funds will help ensure we assist those in need and also provide the necessary resources and support in our communities toward affordable, reliable housing,” Wheatley said.
