Call to action - legalization of adult-use cannabis in PA
The time is now: please join me in legalizing adult-use cannabis in PA
Pennsylvania has an opportunity to move in a progressive, proactive manner through the passage of House Bill 2050.
In addition to legalizing the sale of cannabis for adult recreational use through a permitting structure for growers, processors and dispensaries, this measure would also:
- allow for the expungement of cannabis-related offenses for non-violent drug offenders from prison.
- create a grant program to help minority and women-owned businesses.
- provide funds to support social programs, including after-school programs, student loan forgiveness and affordable housing.
This bill could also provide significant tax revenues to our state – substantial funds that could help us as we continue to deal with effects of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2019, 610,000 people were arrested for possessing a small amount of cannabis – these arrests are not only harmful to these individuals, but they also senselessly overburden our criminal justice system. My bill would remedy that.
Both Gov. Wolf and Lt. Gov. Fetterman have heard from thousands of Pennsylvanians across our state who have supported this effort.
Now is the time to make it a reality and be a leader among states. More details about my bill can be found in this special cannabis report.
Thank you for your support.
