Abney: 14 community support organizations in 19th District receive $4 million

HARRISBURG, Dec. 16 — State Rep. Aerion Abney, D-Allegheny, announced today that nearly $4 million in tax credits was awarded to support 14 organizations providing valuable community support in the 19th Legislative District.

The awards come from the state’s Neighborhood Assistance Program. The program received $72 million in the new state budget, and Abney, who serves on the House Appropriations Committee, supported it.

“These tax credits will help organizations that do meaningful work here in Pittsburgh,” Abney said. “These organizations build affordable housing, train people for good jobs, and provide much-needed healthy food, among other things. I appreciate everything these organizations do for our city, and I’m proud to have supported a state budget that helps them.”

The organizations receiving the awards are:

  • Jubilee Association Inc: $409,500 to expand food program
  • ACH Clear Pathways: $16,250 for technology and arts training for youth
  • Beltzhoover Consensus Group: $39,000 for affordable housing
  • Pittsburgh Gateways Corp.: $55,250 for affordable housing and energy-efficiency initiatives
  • The Greenwood Plan: $32,500 for a renovation project
  • Hazelwood Initiative: $356,250 for affordable housing
  • Hill Community Development Corp.: $731,250 for affordable housing and commercial properties
  • Hilltop Alliance: $237,500 for property renovation, food programs, and business and employment services
  • Hilltop Economic Development Corp.: $380,000 for food, housing, and business programs
  • Northside Leadership Conference: $475,000 for business and housing support
  • Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership: $707,000 for revitalization projects
  • Uptown Partners: $142,500 for housing and environmental initiatives
  • Point Park University: $198,000 for job training
  • Urban Impact Foundation: $216,000 for workforce development programs
