Dear Neighbor,
My staff and I have so much news to share that we’re splitting this e-newsletter into two editions: This is Part I, of course, and Part II will land on Monday. The latter will focus on legislative news out of the Capitol, plus some local updates, while today’s edition highlights our many upcoming events.
One of those events is TOMORROW! Check out the graphic for details on Outdoor Discovery Day:
|
I’m so excited and grateful that we’ll be joined by staff from the state departments of Conservation & Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, as well as the Fish & Boat Commission.
This interactive outdoor education event is guaranteed to be a good time, with hands-on activities for all ages focused on environmental awareness, conservation, and responsible recreation.
You'll have the chance to:
- Explore a live watershed model demonstration and see how everyday actions can impact local streams and waterways;
- Learn fishing basics through the SMART Angler Program, including knot-tying, casting techniques, fish identification, and lessons in fishing ethics;
- Hear from Washington Crossing Historic Park about the park’s rich history, natural resources, and the importance of protecting and enjoying public outdoor spaces; and,
- Visit partner tables, ask questions, and take part in additional hands-on learning opportunities throughout the event.
This is a great opportunity for families, anglers, and community members to connect with local experts and learn more about the natural world right here in our backyard.
We’re also partnering with Delaware Canal State Park and Washington Crossing Historic Park to make the event possible. We hope to see you there – the meeting spot is at Thompson-Neely House & Farmstead!
Sincerely,
|
