Davidson announces $6.25 million in RACP grants

Funds to be used for improvement projects in Cumberland and Dauphin Counties

HARRISBURG, July 16 – State Rep. Nate Davidson, D-Cumberland/Dauphin, announced $6.25 million in state grants for four projects in the 103rd Legislative District.

The funds were awarded through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program and will assist in the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.

“These redevelopment grants are our tax dollars at work,” Davidson said. “When the commonwealth makes investments in important community projects, our whole region benefits. These projects reflect the Shapiro administration’s commitment to supporting our schools, main streets and one of Central Pennsylvania’s crown jewels, the Broad Street Market.”

The grants were awarded to:

  • Harrisburg Broad Street Market — $2.25 million for renovation of the brick building, including new roofing, ADA-compliant infrastructure, HVAC systems, a new outdoor plaza, new walkways, seating, lighting and landscaping.

  • 333 Market Tower Revitalization, Harrisburg Development Corp.$2 million for modernization of five high-bank elevators and one freight elevator, and repairs to exterior walls, parapet, joints and window gaskets.

  • Harrisburg City MLK ADA Improvements — $500,000 for ADA accessibility improvements, new council chambers and lounge areas, and numerous accessibility and efficiency improvements on floors two, three and four.

  • Camp Hill Downtown Development, Market Street Development Partners LLC — $500,000 for development of a full-service licensed restaurant, with renovations to the interior and to plumbing, electrical, HVAC and kitchen systems.

  • Red Land High School Athletic Fields, West Shore School District — $1 million for expansion and improvement of Red Land High School’s athletic field and stadium.
