Parker secures $1.3 million in state funding for her district

State Rep. Darisha Parker secured $1.3 million in state funding for projects that will help uplift people of all ages in her legislative district.

“A thriving community requires a wide range of services and organizations that can help people from all ages and walks of life. This is a massive investment for our neighborhoods; from early education for our youngest learners, a place for community sports, ensuring we’re building our workforce and preserving our rich history. I’m thrilled to secure this funding to build up our community,” Parker said.

The four organizations awarded grants are:

  • Amazing Kidz Early Learning - $250,000
  • Nicetown Sports Court - $500,000
  • The Business Center - $199,558
  • Stenton Education and Community Center $400,000

The grant funding comes from Local Share Account  which are approved and distributed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
