Fleming applauds $1.25 million for local community improvement projects

HARRISBURG, Sept. 15 – State Rep. Justin Fleming announced today that $1.25 million in new grant funding has been awarded to three community projects within the 105th Legislative District.

The funds were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority via the Local Share Account, which distributes money from gaming revenues to counties to support projects in the public interest.

Fleming supported state funding for the following projects:

  • $550,000 to the Latino Connection Foundation Inc. for the purchase of three mobile clinics to continue providing medical treatment and screenings to underserved populations throughout Lower Paxton Township and Pennsylvania.

  • $400,000 to Penbrook Borough for 37,550 square yards of roadway upgrades and restoration to six key streets: Hoffer Street, 26th Street, 27th Street, 29th Street, Boas Street and Banks Street.

  • $300,000 to the Harrisburg Area YMCA to construct a second-level mezzanine and expand multipurpose areas to increase the Friendship YMCA's capacity for programming.

"I'm proud to see this funding support projects that will make a real difference in residents' everyday lives," Fleming said. "Whether it's making healthcare more accessible, improving our roads or creating more space for families and community programs, these investments strengthen our district immensely. I'm grateful to the Commonwealth Financing Authority for supporting these important projects."
