I am proud of what I accomplished in 2025 for our district, delivering real results, providing dedicated service, and making a meaningful difference in our community. It is truly an honor to represent the people and families of Reading, Kenhorst, Shillington, Cumru, and all of Berks County. In 2026, we will continue working with even greater strength and commitment to build on these achievements and deliver results for our community.

Stay Warm This Winter

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is now accepting applications to help people stay warm and safe in their homes.

Eligible households can receive a one-time cash grant of $200 to $1,000, based on household size, income, and fuel type. Households facing a heating emergency—such as low fuel or a broken heating system—may also qualify for a crisis grant for additional support. Grants are paid directly to your utility or fuel provider.

You can apply online via PA Compass, in person at the Berks County Assistance Office located at the Reading State Office Building at 625 Cherry St., or by calling

the LIHEAP hotline at 610-736-4228 or toll free at 866-215-3911.

If you need urgent assistance, call 211 or visit pa-navigate.org for additional resources and support.

Three Kings Day Celebration and Toy Giveaway

Mayor Eddie Morán will host his 7th Annual Three Kings Day Celebration & Toy Giveaway on Tuesday, January 6, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading, 701 Penn Street. Toys will be distributed to children from infancy through age 14, while supplies last. Children must be present to receive a toy.

Free parking will be available at the DoubleTree Hotel and in the state lot located in front of 645 Penn Street from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
