Guzman to team up with Lt. Gov. Davis for a small business tour in Reading

The tour’s primary focus will be on underserved entrepreneurs from Black and Latino communities

READING, April 6 – State Rep. Manny Guzman, D-Berks, announced today that he will host a small business tour with Lt. Gov. Austin Davis. The tour is aimed at offering small business owners the opportunity to discuss firsthand the ‘open for business’ basics of Gov. Josh Shapiro’s 2023-24 proposed budget.

The tour will begin in Guzman’s office at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, at 645 Penn St., 4th floor.

“I am laser-focused on bringing resources, helping small businesses grow, and boosting our workforce,” Guzman said. “I am thrilled about this collaboration with Lieutenant Governor Davis as he will be able to feel the pulse of our economy and get feedback from underserved entrepreneurs of our community.

“As we head into budget negotiations, I anticipate a positive powerful impact on these businesses and overall economy. I am actively working to have the county’s priorities address,” Guzman added.

The proposed budget includes increased investments in the Historically Disadvantaged Business Program, which will provide long-overdue funding for women- and minority-owned businesses to support their growth and open new doors of opportunity.
