Guzman highlights $1M investment for Reading Area Community College

READING, April 24 – State Rep. Manuel Guzman, D-Berks, today announced $1 million in grant funding has been awarded to the Reading Area Community College through the Pennsylvania Department of Education to support expansion of dual-enrollment and workforce development programs that provide students with early access to college coursework and career pathways.

“It is encouraging to see this investment reach Reading Area Community College,” Guzman said. “These funds will help expand opportunities for local students, strengthen academic pathways, and ensure that more young people in our community can move forward with the skills and education needed to succeed after high school”, said Guzman about the PA Dual Credit Innovation Grant.

The grant funding awarded to Reading Area Community College is part of a broader statewide effort administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Education to expand dual-enrollment opportunities and strengthen workforce pipelines across higher education institutions.

“This second round of funding through the Dual Credit Innovation Grant Program will allow RACC to continue expanding dual-credit offerings over the next two years, beginning this summer,” Guzman added.

These competitive grants are designed to support programs that allow high school students to earn college credits at no cost while building clear routes into postsecondary education and in-demand careers.
