Guzman welcomes more than $80K secured for the City of Reading Department of Fire and Rescue Services

READING, July 27 – State Rep. Manny Guzman, D-Berks, today announced more than $80,000 in state investment has been awarded to the City of Reading Department of Fire and Rescue Services. The grant is an Emergency Training Center Capital Grant, administered by the Office of State Fire Commissioner.

The grant was awarded to:

• City of Reading Department of Fire and Rescue Services - $80,810 for acquisition of critical breathing air system components.

“I am proud to help secure this investment for the City of Reading’s Department of Fire and Rescue Services, which will strengthen public safety and support the critical work of our first responders,” Guzman said.

“These grant funds will help purchase essential equipment needed to enhance emergency response capabilities. One of my top priorities is connecting Reading with the funding and resources needed to thrive, and I will continue advocating to bring these important investments back to our community.”
