Kinkead announces $900K for milk bank expansion

State grant supports Mid-Atlantic Mothers’ Milk Bank rehabilitation

PITTSBURGH, May 27 – State Rep. Emily Kinkead announced today that a $900,000 state grant has been awarded to support the expansion and rehabilitation of Mid-Atlantic Mothers’ Milk Bank’s new facility in Bellevue.

“I’m proud to help secure state funding to support the new Mid-Atlantic Mothers’ Milk Bank location in Bellevue,” said Kinkead, D-Allegheny. “Every baby deserves the healthiest possible start in life, and access to donor milk can be lifesaving for medically fragile infants and families facing challenges with feeding. This investment will help expand access to critical care services while strengthening health outcomes for medically fragile babies across the mid-Atlantic region.”

Kinkead said the funding was awarded through the Main Street Matters grant program, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and supports downtowns and surrounding neighborhoods with tools to create healthy, welcoming communities and back revitalization efforts in planning and business support.
