State dollars support streetscape improvements, new vehicle purchases

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 16 – State Rep. Emily Kinkead announced today that more than $2.1 million in state grants has been awarded to support projects in the 20th Legislative District and across the region.
“I am proud to support these investments that will make a tangible difference in the lives of our community members,” said Kinkead, D-Allegheny. “These dollars from the state are improving public walkways, helping our first responders and expanding access to transportation for residents with disabilities. It is money well spent, and I will continue advocating for grants like this as a state representative.”
Kinkead said funding was awarded as follows:
The grants were awarded through the Local Share Account program, which is funded from revenue generated by gaming and is administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects that enhance economic development, public infrastructure, and community vitality.
