Dear Neighbors,
Tomorrow is our winter Shred Event! Come out to William Tennent High School between 10 a.m. and noon to have unneeded personal documents shredded for free.
Shredding documents with private, identifying information like addresses, account information, and social security numbers is an easy way to prevent identity theft and fraud. I’m proud to be able to offer this service to you for free a few times each year.
We ask that you register in advance to let us know to expect you!
I look forward to seeing you there.

We kicked off budget season by hearing Governor Shapiro present his ideas for the next fiscal year. He spoke about funding education, supporting our seniors, bolstering local business, improving public safety, and making life more affordable – all while remaining fiscally responsible. While it’s the earliest stages of developing the 2026-2027 budget, hearing the Governor’s words made me certain that Pennsylvania is on the right path forward.
There are still many budget meetings to be had before a final proposal is ready later this year. And I remain dedicated to standing up for the things that matter most to you.

Enhancing Pennsylvania’s energy economy
|
This week, the House passed three bills that will help enhance Pennsylvania’s energy efficiency and production. Here are the highlights:
- HB 1556 would incentivize the production of advanced clean materials—such as clean steel, clean glass, energy-efficient heat pumps, turbines, and the equipment needed to modernize our electric grid.
- HB 660 would establish minimum energy efficiency and water conservation standards for certain household and commercial appliances and plumbing fixtures sold new in Pennsylvania. These standards are expected to save residents and businesses hundreds of millions of dollars each year while conserving vital resources.
- HB 2017 would cut red tape and reduce barriers to efficient nuclear energy by making small modular reactors more affordable to build in PA, making the state more attractive to prospective energy companies.

Dominican Independence Day at the Capitol
|
We also celebrated Dominican Independence Day at the Capitol.
We marked the 182nd anniversary of the Dominican Republic’s declaration of independence on February 27, 1844, ending centuries of Spanish colonial rule and 22 years of Haitian governance.
