Rep. Brian Munroe February 20, 2026 | 3:22 PM
Dear Neighbors,
Last week, I hosted a scam prevention event with the Office of the Attorney General. As technology evolves, scammers are becoming more sophisticated, and events like this are designed to help you spot scams early and avoid falling into their traps.
Seniors are especially targeted by scammers because older generations often have less experience with evolving technologies. We have a duty to help our older neighbors understand scammers’ tricks and protect their personal information.
Thank you to everyone who attended to learn for themselves or to help another!
In Service,
Brian
Next Week in Harrisburg: Protecting Our Seniors Online
I feel strongly that we can do more to protect our senior residents from online scammers. Next week, I’ll be hosting a policy hearing at the Capitol, alongside the House Policy Committee, to address this issue. We’ll hear from victims of online scams as well as experts, with the goal of giving legislators a full picture of the scope of the problem so we can have more informed conversations about the steps needed to protect our seniors.
Apply now for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program
Seniors age 65 and older, people with disabilities aged 18 to 64, and widows or widowers aged 50 to 64 may be eligible for the state Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) Program. PTRR provides eligible residents with incomes of $48,110 or less a rebate on their property taxes or rent paid in 2025. Only half of your Social Security income is counted toward the income threshold.
Our office can help you with the application. Reach out to (215) 323-6997 with any questions or to set up a time to meet with us!
Getting to Know our Local Businesses
One thing I love to do when I’m not in Harrisburg is to get to know the businesses helping our community to thrive.
I recently stopped by Frida’s Market in Warminster, a family-owned grocery store that offers candies, canned goods, housewares, and more for shoppers seeking the flavors and culture of Mexico. Over the years, Frida’s has become a neighborhood favorite!
I also had the chance to welcome Gloria Sports & Spirits to Warrington, a new bar-restaurant with a menu of Italian and American favorites that just opened in September.
If you’re looking to ease some cravings this weekend, be sure to check them both out!
