Speaking Out Against Proposed PECO Rate Hikes

Dear Neighbors,

To those who celebrate, I hope you all had a fantastic Easter and Passover!

In this week’s e-newsletter is information on upcoming events, how I am fighting PECO proposed rate hikes, and important bills we have passed in Harrisburg.

As always, if you need anything, feel free to give my office a call at 215-323-6997 or reply to this email!

Sincerely,

Bucks County Democratic Delegation Speak Out Against Proposed PECO Rate Hikes

At a time when working families are already struggling to afford groceries, rent, and everyday essentials, PECO has proposed steep increases to electric and natural gas rates — raising electric bills by 12.5% and gas bills by 11.4%. I am strongly opposed to this rate hike.

My fellow Bucks County democratic state representatives and I are strongly opposed to this increase, and we have put together a petition to stop this ridiculous proposal.

Please sign on using the link below or by going to my website!

Make your voice heard on PECO's proposed rate increases.

You can also file a formal complaint against PECO using the second link!

Legislative Updates

A lot has happened in Harrisburg over the last two weeks! Notably, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed the following bills – which I strongly supported:

  • Family Care Act: would create a statewide paid family and medical leave insurance program. I was proud to be a co-sponsor on this bill.
  • Minimum Wage Increase: would raise the minimum wage gradually to $15/hr over the next three years.
  • AI Data Center Safeguards: there are many components of this bill, but in short: it puts up safeguards for AI data centers to ensure they contribute new clean energy, don’t strain the grid, and help fund energy assistance programs, while holding them to strict oversight and reliability standards.

I am calling on my colleagues in the State Senate to do the right thing by passing these bills and sending them to the Governor’s desk!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all who celebrate! Hope you all had a day filled with joy, hope, prayer, and some chocolate too!

Warrington Vietnam Veterans Ceremony

Last week, I had the honor of attending and speaking at Warrington Township's Vietnam Veterans Ceremony. These men are heroes, and though we can never repay them for their selfless service to our nation, events like this are important because they show that our gratitude for these patriots is everlasting.

Thank you to the Warrington Township Veterans Committee for putting this together, and to all who served in Vietnam, thank you for your service!
