Pisciottano brings home $112K for first responders

DCED grants secured for Glassport, Port Vue emergency services

GLASSPORT, Oct. 28 – Grants totaling more than $112,000 have been awarded to local law enforcement and fire companies, state Rep. Nick Pisciottano, D-Allegheny, announced today.

“Every investment in our local first responders is also a direct investment in the safety and well-being of our community members,” said Pisciottano. “One of my top priorities as a state legislator is supporting emergency service crews and I’ll continue to do so at every chance I get.”

The awarded projects include:

  • $62,000 to the Glassport Police Department for a new police SUV and requested gap funding.

  • $45,170 to Citizen’s Hose Co. #1 in Glassport for attack hoses and fittings and breathable dry suits.

  • $5,000 to Vigilant Hose Co. #1 in Port Vue for air monitoring equipment.

The funds are sourced from a grant program administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development.
