Pisciottano supports state budget

Highlights education funding, zero tax increases

PITTSBURGH, July 6 – Following passage of the state budget, state Rep. Nick Pisciottano issued the following statement:

“Overall, I’m very pleased with the bipartisan budget we crafted in Harrisburg. In addition to increasing funding for public education, some of the more notable provisions include expanding the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program and a $100 million investment to increase access to mental health services for students and adults.

“There is always room for improvement, but I’m happy my colleagues and I on both sides of the aisle were able to agree and send this budget to Governor Shapiro’s desk. I’m especially proud that this budget delivers wins for working families without increasing taxes.”

According to Pisciottano, school districts in the 38th Legislative District will receive an approximate increase of $17.3 million in education funding over last year’s state budget.
