Pisciottano celebrates $1 million for traffic safety

PennDOT funding for improvements at Hamilton Road and Baptist Road intersection

WHITEHALL, Feb. 1 – More than $1 million has been awarded to reduce congestion and improve safety at the intersection of Hamilton Road and Baptist Road through PennDOT’s Automated Red Light Enforcement grant program, state Rep. Nick Pisciottano announced today.

“This award from PennDOT is a significant investment in the safety of our local residents as well as everyone who travels through this area,” said Pisciottano. “Being part of the growing metropolitan community around Pittsburgh comes with a lot of heavy traffic that our current infrastructure simply wasn’t designed to handle. Projects like this are a huge step in the right direction toward streamlining the flow of traffic and, ultimately, creating a safer environment for everyone.”

Pisciottano, who is a PA House appointee on the board of Pittsburgh Regional Transit, said the funds awarded to Bethel Park Borough will benefit multiple neighboring municipalities, as the project sits on the border of Bethel Park and Whitehall.
