Scott applauds $725K investment in Conshohocken Fire Department

NORRISTOWN, Sept. 17 – State Rep. Greg Scott, D-Montgomery, today applauded $725,000 in state funds awarded to Conshohocken Borough on behalf of the Conshohocken Fire Department.
The grant funding will be used to replace the fire department’s aging air service truck with a larger 2027 model.
“This grant is a significant investment in the safety and resilience of our community. By funding the replacement of the fire department’s aging air service truck, we are helping ensure that our volunteer firefighters have the reliable equipment they need to respond effectively when our residents need them most,” said Council President Tina Sokolowski. “Our volunteer fire service is made up of dedicated individuals who give their time, expertise, and commitment to protecting our borough. Supporting them with modern apparatus and equipment is one of the most important investments we can make in public safety.
“I want to thank Rep. Scott, Sen. Vince Hughes, and our state partners for recognizing this need and securing this funding. As volunteer fire companies across Pennsylvania face increasing operational and financial challenges, this grant represents a critical investment in the future of emergency services in Conshohocken and the safety of everyone who lives, works, and visits here.”
“As a volunteer firefighter myself, I know how aging equipment can slow down the response to fire emergencies,” said Scott. “Maintaining and upgrading trucks, equipment, and safety gear is necessary for all fire departments to deliver their best, most efficient emergency assistance. I am proud to have played a part in getting this funding for our local department and appreciate their ongoing dedication to our community.”

The grants come from Local Share Account funds, which are approved and distributed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
