Steele highlights grant to O’Hara Township, Fox Chapel Borough

CHESWICK, Sept. 13 – O’Hara Township and Fox Chapel Borough will receive a grant of $22,630 from the Department of Community and Economic Development, Rep. Mandy Steele, D-Allegheny, announced.

The grant from the Municipal Assistance Program will provide for a plan, created by O’Hara Township and Fox Chapel Borough, to address the effects of climate change, sustainability and storm water management. It will also address issues relating to traffic congestion, active transportation opportunities, zero-carbon energy sources and ways to enhance civic stewardship and engagement.

“With this grant, we may begin to address environmental issues on a local level and address other issues impacting O’Hara Township and Fox Chapel Borough,” Steele said. “As a commonwealth, we must work together to protect our environment, starting right here in our community.”

MAP provides financial assistance to revitalize municipalities across the commonwealth.
