Steele appointed to ACHA

ACHA administers more than 5,000 vouchers to make housing more affordable

CHESWICK, Feb. 7 – Allegheny County Council recently approved the nomination of Rep. Mandy Steele, D-Allegheny, to the Allegheny County Housing Authority Board, she announced.

In addition to Steele, the council also approved the re-nomination of Mark Foerster as chair of the ACHA Board.

“Ensuring that affordable housing is accessible in Allegheny County, especially as the cost of living continues to rise and inflation exacerbates residents’ finances, is a top priority of mine,” Steele said. “Often, I hear from constituents, especially those residing in Allegheny Valley, about the need for more affordable housing. I look forward to serving alongside fellow ACHA board members and bringing my insights as state representative to the table as we work for the people of Allegheny County.”

“I am delighted to have Rep. Steele filling the seat on the ACHA that I previously held myself. I know she’ll bring valuable insights and a spirit of intergovernmental collaboration to the board. Affordable housing is a top priority for my administration, and I look forward to working closely with Rep. Steele and the entire ACHA to move an affordable housing agenda forward,” said County Executive Sara Innamorato.

Residents may contact ACHA for assistance at 412-355-8940, Steele added.

For more information on financial assistance through state services, Steele said that residents may contact her office at 724-826-5151. Residents may also contact the County Support Center at 800-581-9145 for information on financial assistance.
