Welby holding Back-to-School Uniform and Supplies Drive

HARRISBURG, Aug. 2 – In an effort to help area families, state Rep. Thom Welby is holding a Back-to-School Uniform and Supplies Drive at his district office.

“Inflation is affecting everyone, and it’s especially costly to get kids ready when they head back to school. I encourage everyone to do their part in helping the students in our community start their school year off strong!” Welby said.

Items being collected include new or gently used uniforms/attire for the Scranton School District, clear or mesh backpacks only, notebooks, pencils, crayons, pens, pencil sharpeners, highlighters, folders, erasers and rulers.

Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Welby’s district office in the Abington Shopping Center, 1147 Northern Blvd., South Abington Township, 18411.

A special Drop Off Donation Day will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 at the refreshment stand at Nay Aug Park in Scranton.

The drive concludes Aug. 22.
