The joint Lackawanna County Senior Expo was held Sept. 13, 2024 at The Marketplace at Steamtown. More than 70 vendors were on hand with information to help seniors live active lives.

Rep. Jim Haddock joined Gov. Shapiro who visited SMART Sheet Metal Workers Local 44 in Wilkes-Barre to highlight the investments in workforce development, job training, apprenticeship programs and vo-tech included in the bipartisan 2024-25 state budget.

Gov. Josh Shapiro visited Pittston to talk about how we worked together to deliver for working parents, and caregivers as we more than tripled the state’s Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit to help nearly a quarter-million Pennsylvania families keep more of their hard-earned money.

The House Majority Policy Committee held a hearing, hosted by Rep. Jim Haddock, on expanding career and technical education in Pennsylvania. Members heard from Governor Shapiro Administration officials, apprenticeship program leaders, and others on the impact career and technical education can have on our students.
