SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Enrollment Event

SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Enrollment Event

Tuesday, May 29th

9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

CADES Lower Gym, 401 Rutgers Ave., Swarthmore, PA 19081

As you may know, SEPTA is in the process of switching to their new KEY system. The SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Card is a reloadable, contactless chip, photo ID. It replaces the paper PA Reduced Transit Fare ID that Riders with Disabilities currently use to validate eligibility for the reduce fare travel privileges. (Medicare Cards are no longer accepted as of January 16, 2018.)

I would like to make sure you are aware that on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, SEPTA will be at CADES in Swarthmore to take SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Cards. SEPTA will be there from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in CADES Lower Gym, 401 Rutgers Ave., Swarthmore, PA 19081. This is free and open to the public.

Individuals applying should bring a valid, state-issued photo ID and their Medicare Card. Due to the Reduced Fare Key Card’s ability to be loaded with funds and the necessary verification of medical documentation, applications must be submitted in person to SEPTA officials.

Please know that applicants that do not have a Medicare Card will need to have the attached Reduced Fare Application Form (MT-301)  completed by a physician prior to attending. (http://www.septa.org/fares/discount/pdf/disabled-id.pdf)

Individuals under 65 that are not able to attend an outreach event will have to travel to SEPTA’s center city headquarters to apply in person for a SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Card. However, those over 65 can apply for a free SEPTA Senior Key Card at my District Office, 701 E. MacDade Blvd; Folsom, PA 19033, during normal business hours without having to travel to SEPTA headquarters.

Please feel free to call my office at 610-534-6880 with any questions about the Reduced Fare or Senior Key Cards.
