Briggs welcomes nearly $400,000 to modernize traffic signals in Lower Merion Township

KING OF PRUSSIA, Aug. 4 – State Rep. Tim Briggs, D-Montgomery, today announced that Lower Merion Township has been awarded a $397,200 Green Light-Go grant to modernize traffic signals and improve traffic flow and safety along two of the township's busiest corridors.
The funding will support traffic signal modernization and infrastructure upgrades at numerous intersections along Lancaster Avenue and Wynnewood Road, helping improve traffic operations for motorists, pedestrians and emergency responders.
"These investments will make a real difference for everyone who travels through Lower Merion every day," Briggs said. "Modernized traffic signals help reduce congestion, improve safety, and keep people moving more efficiently. I'm pleased to see the state partnering with Lower Merion to make these important upgrades that will benefit residents, commuters, businesses and visitors alike."
The project includes traffic signal modernization and infrastructure improvements at the following intersections:
Along Lancaster Avenue:
- County Line Road.
- North Roberts Road/South Roberts Road/Water Street.
- Warner Avenue.
- N. Merion Avenue.
- Summit Grove Avenue.
- Bryn Mawr Avenue.
- Elliot Avenue/Morris Avenue.
- Town Place/Barnes & Noble driveway.
- Lee Avenue and Old Lancaster Avenue.
- Penn Street and Pennswood Road.
- Booth Lane.
- Haverford Station Road.
- Wyoming Avenue.
- Woodside Road.
- Greenfield Avenue.
- Ardmore Avenue.
- Anderson Avenue/Cricket Avenue/Station Avenue.
- Old West Wynnewood Road/Wynnewood Square driveway.
- Rittenhouse Place.
- Argyle Road.
- Church Road.
- Clover Hill Road.
- Remington Road.
- Lankenau Drive.
Along Wynnewood Road:
- Morris Avenue.
- Penn Road/Private Drive.
- Williams Road.
The Greenlight-Go Program is a competitive state grant program designed to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals in Pennsylvania and is administered by the state Department of Transportation.
Briggs represents the 149th Legislative District, which includes Bridgeport, West Conshohocken, Upper Merion and parts of Lower Merion in Montgomery County.
