Bullock: End Youth Homelessness

Pa. state Rep. Donna Bullock supports H.R. 544, which brings awareness to the growing problem of youth homelessness in the commonwealth. Bullock says she knows firsthand the negative effects homelessness can have on young children, and more needs to be done to make sure our children have consistency both at home and at school. ‘Meet the Blind Month’ activities include eye exams

State Rep. Donna Bullock will join Will’s Eye Hospital’s mobile team from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Blaine Elementary School to provide free eye exams to students. The school visit was organized as part of “Meet the Blind Month” and “White Cane Safety Day” and is modeled after Will's Eye's upcoming “Give Kids Sight Day” and other school outreach programs, said Bullock, D-Philadelphia. Bullock: Compromise plan offered best chance for rising tide in Pa.

Donna Bullock, D-Phila., released the following statement regarding her vote in favor of a compromise tax plan today in the House: “We lawmakers have heard all along from our constituents that they want to see compromise, cooperation, new ideas and, ultimately, answers for the mess Pennsylvania is in. We responded today by putting forth such a plan in an attempt to bring seniors tax relief, to put money into our schools and to restore funding to human-service agencies – all things Pennsylvanians have been asking for. Bullock: End Female Genital Mutilation

Pa. state Rep. Donna Bullock says that the practice of female genital mutilation is a scourge that afflicts an alarming amount of girls and women born in America. A study released this year estimates that up to 507,000 women and girls living in the U.S. are at risk of or have undergone some form of genital mutilation. Bullock was speaking at a news conference in the State Capitol in support of Pa. House Bill 135, which would banish the practice of female genital mutilation in Pennsylvania. Read more

State Rep. Donna Bullock, D-Philadelphia, was sworn in to the House of Representatives today, beginning her first term as a legislator. She was one of four members sworn in today to the 198th Pennsylvania General Assembly. Bullock won a special election August 11 to represent the 195th Legislative District. Read more
