Rep. Frank Burns' Biography

Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, grew up in East Taylor Township and is a lifelong resident of the region.

In local government, Burns served as township supervisor for East Taylor Township. He also represented Cambria County as an elected member of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee for more than six years.

Prior to his elected legislative service, Burns was a consultant for Den-Mat, a cosmetic dental company. In this position, he put into action the degree in business management he obtained from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, working to educate doctors throughout the country on the latest advancements in cosmetic dentistry.

Burns' legislative priorities include job growth, health-care coverage for seniors and exploring the idea of coal and other fuel initiatives to reduce Pennsylvania’s dependence on foreign oil. He is chairman of the House Professional Licensure Committee.

He is the son of the late Bill and Agnes Burns.
