Delivering for You in Harrisburg!
|
I am so pleased to tell all of you, my neighbors in the 201st, that PA is no longer without a budget!
With a divided Legislature, Gov. Shapiro was finally able to sign a bipartisan budget deal on Wednesday.
While no compromise is perfect, I was proud to support the 2025–26 budget because it makes historic investments in education, achieves record savings in cyber charter school funding—thanks to legislation I championed—and provides critical funding for mental health services in schools.
The House and Senate did this without raising taxes or reducing the Rainy Day Fund.
I am thrilled that we were able to come together, democrats and republicans, and finally deliver for the people of Pennsylvania!
As always, if you need assistance with any state service or issue you may run into, please feel free to contact my office at 215.849.6592.
In service,
Rep. Andre D. Carroll

City & State Food Resources
|
My office and I have compiled a list of local food banks and community fridges in our district. Even though the SNAP benefits have been distributed for the month of November, food insecurity is still an issue across our state. Please don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for assistance, if you are in need.
Please call ahead to confirm details before visiting. We sincerely thank these organizations for their contributions to the community. If you know of any other food banks in the district that are not listed, please call my office at (215) 849-6592 so we can add them to our list. Thank you!

Out and About in the Community
|
On November 11, I had the privilege to speak on the WURD Sassy Seniors radio show. I had the opportunity to talk about senior programs, concerns for future seniors, and some backstories about being raised by my own grandmother. This sit down was a wonderful listen for seniors and great insight on what’s to come next for seniors in the community. Thank you WURD for giving me the platform to speak to the community and share my experiences!

Parkway Northwest High School Homecoming Tour and Meeting with Principal Reuben Mills
|
On November 7th, my team and I had a meeting with Principal Reuben Mills of Parkway Northwest High School. We talked about ways we can improve the community through partnerships and creating a safer environment for students to learn. We were lucky enough to get a tour of the school during homecoming day and see a lot of the festivities! Thank you, Principal Mills and all of the staff, for welcoming us and Happy Homecoming to Parkway Northwest! We look forward to working with you soon.

PECO/PGW Press Conference
|
On November 3rd, I held a press conference alongside some of my House colleagues outside of City Hall to make sure that PECO and PGW did not shut off our neighbors’ utilities during this difficult time. We are happy that our Philadelphia utility companies have stepped up and agreed to not make any shut offs during this time. To ensure your utilities are not shut off, make sure you are enrolled in the CAP and CRP programs. If you need assistance signing up for these programs, please contact my office at (215) 849-6592.

On October 31st, Councilman Anthony Phillips and I went to Building 21 school to speak with the youth about the importance of civic engagement. This was a wonderful way of engaging youth in politics and showing them how much power they have in using their voice! Thank you Building 21 for giving us this opportunity, and we hope to do more collaborations in the future!

Bellfield Rec’s Halloween Spooktacular!

On October 31st, I attended the Belfield Recreation Center annual Halloween Spooktacular event. There were lots of Halloween festivities and candy for kids. I was happy to see all of the creative and fun costumes! Thank you, Belfield Rec, for all that you do for the youth in the community. We can’t wait to attend your next event!

The application deadline for Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has been extended to Dec. 31, 2025.
Thanks to a historic expansion of the program passed by the General Assembly, more Pennsylvanians than ever -- including older adults, widows/widowers and people with disabilities -- are eligible for the rebates, with increased maximum payments of up to $1,000. In the last claim year, the program issued over 522,000 rebates totaling $319 million, including 106,000 first-time filers.
Filing is free, easy, and can be done online through myPATH. In-person help is also available at my district office and through PA Department of Revenue district offices and Area Agencies on Aging.
