PHILADELPHIA, May 15 -- State Rep. Morgan Cephas, D-Phila., and Overbrook West Neighbors CDC successfully hosted the 6th Annual Overbrook Night Market on Wednesday, May 14, welcoming more than 12,000 eventgoers to the Upper Lancaster Avenue corridor for an evening celebrating community, culture, food, and local businesses.
Stretching along 63rd Street and Lancaster Avenue, this year’s event featured 37 food and drink vendors, live entertainment, community resources, and expanded activation spaces, including the new TONM Marketplace and the crowd-favorite Family Zone. Residents and visitors from across Philadelphia gathered throughout the evening to support small businesses and experience one of West Philadelphia’s signature community events.
Special guests included Curtis Jones Jr., alongside numerous community organizations, businesses, and institutional partners who helped make the event possible.
“This event continues to demonstrate the strength, vibrancy, and unity of our communities,” said Cephas. “What started as a neighborhood celebration has grown into a community tradition that supports local businesses, showcases culture, and creates meaningful opportunities for residents and families to gather together.”
“The Overbrook Night Market is about creating joy, visibility, and opportunity for our community,” said Dr. Gregory Allen, president of Overbrook West Neighbors. “Seeing thousands of people come together along Lancaster Avenue to support local vendors, enjoy family-friendly activities, and celebrate the neighborhood is a reminder of what’s possible when we work together, and it’s a great representation as we celebrate 100 years of Overbrook.”
This year’s event was made possible through the support of community partners and sponsors, including the Cobbs Creek Foundation and TGR Learning Lab, Bethanna, Uber, PECO, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, Penn Medicine, Highmark Mann, and many additional supporters committed to investing in community-centered initiatives across the neighborhood.
The Overbrook Night Market was created to highlight the Upper Lancaster Avenue and 63rd Street business corridors while supporting small businesses, neighborhood engagement, and economic development.
