Our Levittown office will continue to offer Advance Care Planning Hours in 2025.
These recurring office hours with the Bucks County Health Improvement Partnership will be held at our district office at 3611 Green Lane. We are offering these hours from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. The next one will be on Jan. 8.
During these hours we offer assistance to anyone over age 18 seeking to create an Advance Directive with the support of trained facilitators - BCHIP will assist in distributing
Advance Directives to your selected physicians, hospitals, and healthcare agents.
What is an Advance Directive? It is a legal document that states your medical care wishes and lists the names of people who can make those decisions if you were unable to do so yourself.
This is a free service. Please call (267) 580-2660 to schedule an appointment.

Lowering your heating bill
|
With colder weather setting in, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is encouraging natural gas customers to take steps now to manage heating costs. The PUC has created a Winter Utility Bill Checklist to help consumers reduce energy usage, save on heating costs, and access assistance programs if needed.
Winter Utility Bill Checklist:
- Review Your Utility Bills – Understand your energy usage and the rates you're being charged.
- Understand the Impact of Winter Weather – Colder temperatures increase heating demands, which can raise costs.
- Check Your Natural Gas Price – Compare your utility’s Price to Compare with competitive supplier offers.
- Save Energy Where You Can – Small adjustments like lowering your thermostat and sealing drafts can make a significant impact.
- Call Utilities for Help – If you're struggling with bills, contact your utility to learn about assistance programs like CAPs, LIHEAP, and more.
The PUC also offers tips for saving energy, including servicing your furnace, adjusting your water heater, and using ceiling fans to circulate warm air.
For more detailed information and resources, including how to compare natural gas suppliers, visit this link.
If you have any questions or need further assistance with your LIHEAP application or any other program, please don’t hesitate to contact my office for additional details.
Stay warm and take action now to manage your winter heating costs.

Getting ready for Real ID
|
As the May 7 deadline approaches, please be reminded that you will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card (or another form of federally accepted ID) for the following:
- Boarding domestic commercial flights
- Entering a federal facility that requires ID at the door
- Accessing military bases
REAL ID is part of post-September 11 regulations designed to enhance security and ensure uniform standards for identification across the country.
Important: A standard driver’s license or ID card is not an acceptable alternative for these federal purposes.
Key details:
- If you do not obtain a REAL ID, you will need an alternate form of federally acceptable identification (e.g., passport, military ID).
- REAL IDs are not required for general activities such as:
- Driving
- Voting
- Accessing hospitals, the post office, or federal courts
- Applying for or receiving federal benefits (e.g., Social Security, veterans' benefits)
To obtain a REAL ID, you must visit a PennDOT Driver Licensing Center in person with the required documents for verification. PennDOT does not offer a process for uploading documents remotely, and no websites are affiliated with PennDOT for submitting documents online.
For a list of documents needed and other instructions on obtaining a REAL ID or for alternatives to REAL ID, please see PennDOT’s webpage on the subject.
