Full Practice Authority Press Conference

I continue to push for Full Practice Authority for Nurse Practitioners (NP) in the Commonwealth. My legislation, HB 739, would allow Full Practice Authority for NPs, which will increase access to quality health care for all Pennsylvanians. No matter where you are located – rural, suburban, or urban areas – quality health care should be readily available.

Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit Passes House

Putting money back in YOUR pocket!

The bipartisan Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit passed the House overwhelmingly and gives working people access to a tax credit equal to 30% of the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.

I was proud to vote for the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit. More than a million working people – thousands of them right here in Montgomery County – can get anywhere from $200 to $2,300 back in their pockets at tax time.

This is money for new clothes for school, to help pay for day care, for a new set of tires for the car, or for that long-overdue family weekend getaway. It is for whatever you want or need to spend it on. Now, it’s up to the state Senate to do the right thing and pass the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit – call your senator to make your voice heard.

Queen of Angels 4th Grade Class Visits Harrisburg

Ms. Cartlidge’s 4th Grade class from Queen of Angels School in Willow Grove visited Harrisburg for a tour of the Capitol to learn all about state government. They were able to visit the State Museum of Pennsylvania, where they learned about the cultural and natural history of the state. I love it when young minds are at work, and these kids all have a very bright future! Keep up the good work, kiddos!

Eastern Center for Arts & Technology Receives PA Smart Grant

Congratulations to Eastern Tech for being one of the 55 organizations across the state selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to receive a PAsmart Advancing Grant for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that expand access to computer science and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education for learners across the Commonwealth.

Eastern received a $450,000 grant and have planned innovative projects to expand access to CTE computer science and STEM experiences for students.

Congratulations to Eastern on receiving such an amazing grant award.

E-Waste and Shredding Event

On Saturday, we held our annual Spring E-Waste and Shred event at Upper Moreland High School. The weather was beautiful, and the turnout from the community was huge. We were just shy of reaching capacity for the shredding truck with over 30 bins of shredding, and our E-Waste collection container was almost full. We are so happy to be able to offer this free service to the community.

Thanks to everyone who came out to recycle and shred!

SEPTA Offers Public Hearings On Budget Proposal

SEPTA has released its Fiscal Year 2026 Operation and Capitol Budget proposal, which includes a 21.5% fare increase and 45% service reduction, due to the structural operating budget gap. To avoid these drastic cuts and fare increases, the state must approve a budget that would enable SEPTA to maintain service levels. The proposed budgets are published and accessible on the SEPTA website: Reports – Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority

Public hearings for this Operating Budget Proposal will be held at SEPTA Headquarters (1234 Market Street, Philadelphia) on May 19 and May 20. Public hearings for the Capital Budget Proposal will be held at SEPTA Headquarters on May 21. More information about these public hearings is available by clicking here:
