Upwards of $400K awarded across 152nd Legislative District

HARRISBURG, Sept. 6 – State Rep. Nancy Guenst, D-Montgomery/Phila., announced Tuesday that funding awarded in the 152nd Legislative District will go toward the acquisition of nearly 20 acres of green space in Hatboro and Upper Moreland Township.

The funding was approved by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to be used for the rehabilitation and expansion of parks, greenways and other natural spaces.

“Securing funding for the expansion, rehabilitation or acquisition of land in our community is key to ensuring the 152nd Legislative District remains a destination hub in the commonwealth,” Guenst said. “My office will continue to advocate for greenspace funding in the future. The beautification of our environment is essential to leaving behind a better community for our children.”

The approved funding includes:

  • $200,000 to Upper Moreland Township to go toward the acquisition of approximately five acres along Woodlawn Avenue for passive and active recreation.
  • $204,200 to Hatboro to go toward the acquisition of approximately 14 acres along Spring Avenue for a new community park.

Guenst said the state approved 330 projects throughout Pennsylvania to fund new recreational opportunities, conserve natural resources and revitalize local communities. A full list of the approved projects can be found here.
