Rep. Liz Hanbidge, D-Montgomery, has announced over $1.7 million in grant funding from the Commonwealth Financing Agency will support multiple renovation projects within her district.
Hanbidge said that the following projects in her district have been awarded funding:
- $400,000 to North Wales Water Authority for the purchase of two public water system service vehicles.
- $144,074 to North Wales Borough for the purchase of a new street sweeper for use in the borough.
- $250,000 to Towamencin Municipal Authority for a sewer system upgrade.
- $132,000 to Upper Gwynedd Township on behalf of Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Landsdale for the purchase of cardiac devices.
Hanbidge also collaborated with Sen. Maria Collett on the following projects:
- $100,000 to Whitpain Township for the construction of a new community center.
- $750,000 to Lower Gwynedd Township for the construction of a new public works facility.
“I am thrilled to announce more than $1.7 million in state grant funding coming back to our district to support essential infrastructure, public safety, and community services,” said Hanbidge. “These investments will help modernize our water and sewer systems, give our municipalities the tools they need to keep streets clean, keep residents safe, and create new community spaces that bring people together. From North Wales to Lower Gwynedd, this funding is going to meet local needs and ensure our communities remain efficient and prepared for the future.”
“If we want to live in healthier, safer neighborhoods where all of us can thrive, investments like these are critical,” said Collett. “I was proud to work with partners on the state and local levels to support infrastructure projects that have tangible impacts on our communities, economy and future.”
The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects in public interest within Pennsylvania. Eligible projects include acquisition, construction, renovation and rehabilitation, demolition, infrastructure, purchase of vehicles, machinery and equipment, planning, consulting and design costs related to projects, engineering, and some administrative costs.
