RETIRED FIREFIGHTERS, POLICE OFFICERS, TEACHERS AND PUBLIC WORKERS DESERVE A COLA INCREASE

House Bills 1379 and 1416 would provide a long-overdue cost-of-living adjustment for retired police officers, firefighters, teachers and state workers. The PA House has now voted twice to provide the COLA, but the PA Senate has yet to take this issue up. Tell the Senate to bring House Bills 1379 and 1416 to a vote.

Help long-time retirees by bringing COLA bills to a vote

Email Body:

It has been brought to my attention that the PA House passed legislation earlier this year that would provide cost-of-living-adjustments to our commonwealth’s retired teachers, state workers, municipal fire fighters and police officers. These public servants spent decades serving our commonwealth community, yet they have not seen a COLA adjustment in over 20 years.

I strongly urge you to take action by bringing House Bills 1379 and 1416 to a vote. It is essential that these Pennsylvanians living on fixed pensions receive an adjustment to help keep up with inflation.

I appreciate your help and ask that you please send me a response letting me know if you will support these bills. Public workers have spent whole careers working behind the scenes to make Pennsylvania a good and safe place to live, and they deserve support for their years of dedicated service.

Sincerely,
