Dear Neighbors, on Wednesday, our team was invited to Family First Health to celebrate National Health Center Week to honor the vital work of community health centers in providing accessible, high-quality healthcare! It was an amazing opportunity to learn about the kinds of work Family First Health does to serve the community and to meet the staff who are behind delivering affordable healthcare to everyone in need. The staff showed us around the facility and provided us with information about the kinds of work they do inside and outside the facility to promote health and wellness. We are grateful to the staff at Family First Health for their work, hospitality, and welcome. Your hard work and dedication help make an impact on people’s lives throughout our community! Hill-Evans announces $6.7 million in RACP grants for local projects

State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, announced that $6.7 million from the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will go toward four different projects in her district. Funded by the Commonwealth’s Office of the Budget, RACP provides funding for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. A mixed-use housing project is being constructed in York City.The project at the former Dentsply site in York is receiving $1.53 million from Pennsylvania’s Housing Action Plan to create 81 apartments and retail space.State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans (D-York) joined Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger Wednesday for a tour of the housing project. According to a release, the visit highlighted the need for housing infrastructure investments across Pennsylvania. Read more

Pennsylvanians support new option for terminally ill patients, but lawmakers are not taking action

Getting a bill onto the House floor for a vote will first require legislators to put their personal feelings aside, Hill-Evans said, to conduct a hearing where people on both sides of the issue can testify, including people struggling with illness who could directly benefit from the legislation.
