Kosierowski responds to school funding decision

HARRISBURG, Feb. 8 – State Rep. Bridget M. Kosierowski issued the following statement about this week’s Commonwealth Court decision on school funding in Pennsylvania:

“This week’s court decision regarding Pennsylvania school funding is welcomed by students, teachers and taxpayers across the state. For too many years, students in places like the Scranton School District were shortchanged; Lackawanna County homeowners were pushed to the breaking point with high property taxes and now we can begin to help students and taxpayers. It’s likely the court decision will be appealed, but it’s time for the state legislature and governor to work together to undo the years of inequitable school funding, so every student can have an equal education, no matter where they live,” Kosierowski said.
