Krueger announces state grants to support sewer projects

FOLSOM, Aug. 17 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger announced today that state grants were awarded to Brookhaven and the Southwest Delaware County Municipal Authority in Aston to help with vital sewer projects.

The grants, through the PA Small Water and Sewer grant program, were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority today.

“Keeping critical infrastructure, such as sanitary sewer lines, in good shape is important for the health of our communities,” said Krueger, D-Delaware. “I’m pleased that these grants were awarded to help fund necessary repairs and improvements in Brookhaven and Aston Township.”

Brookhaven Borough was awarded $406,835 to help replace 580 linear feet of sanitary sewer line, in an area where a defective sanitary sewer main has resulted in chronic backup conditions.

The Southwest Delaware County Municipal Authority was awarded two grants:

  • $170,358 will help repair sewer lines at 23 locations in Aston and Chester townships.
  • $108,795 will help replace sewer lines at 13 locations in Aston and Chester townships.
