Krueger announces grants for Aston Valley Baseball League and Nether Providence Township

HARRISBURG, Nov. 19 State Rep. Leanne Krueger announced that state funding has been awarded to two projects in the 161st District.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved the following grants today:

  • The Aston Valley Baseball League was awarded $167,080 in Greenways, Trails and Recreation funds to improve Weir Park in Aston Township. The plans include field lighting on one field, as well as construction of a pole barn that can be used year-round for instructional clinics, indoor practices and equipment storage.
  • Nether Providence Township was awarded $500,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Fund for sidewalk installation along Providence Road. In addition to replacing sidewalk, the plans include pedestrian traffic signal upgrades and school signal relocations.

“Both of these projects have great importance to our community – enhancing recreation options that are so important for our kids and increasing safety by investing in improvements to a busy road,” said Krueger, D-Delaware. “It’s critical that we help our communities by investing state funds to improve quality of life for residents. I congratulate the Aston Valley Baseball League and Nether Providence Township on these grants.”
